Professor of Military Science in UGA Army ROTC

Lieutenant Colonel Weston S. Layfield is the professor of military science in UGA Army ROTC. He has served in the U.S. Army for 16 years in various command and staff positions across the country.

He served as an assistant professor of military science at the University of North Georgia from 2014-2018. He has one combat tour in Afghanistan and has conducted numerous operational deployments throughout the United States and the Middle East. He commissioned in 2007 through North Georgia College and State University and earned a Master’s Degree from Webster University in 2018.

His military education includes Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Airborne School, Military History Instructor Course, and Command and General Staff College.
