Welcome to the Office of Instruction

Welcome to the Office of the Vice President for Instruction. We are excited to share our latest efforts in supporting students, faculty, and staff across UGA’s main and extended campuses.

Our mission is instructional excellence. We constantly strive to improve and enhance teaching and learning at the University of Georgia.

We aim to provide students with critical support and memorable learning experiences throughout their college careers—from recruitment through graduation. Our focus on student success is designed to meet the ever-changing needs of our student body. Our two newest units, Domestic Field Study and the Office of Active Learning, continue to expand and offer effective and impactful learning experiences for our students within and outside of the classroom. Our groundbreaking experiential learning practices give students amazing opportunities. Work with industry partners sets students up for internship success. We are actively working to increase experiential learning scholarships to lessen financial barriers to taking a dream internship or studying abroad.

We aim to empower our distinguished faculty by championing new ideas and methods for teaching and learning through training, toolkits, and teaching tips. We are passionate about creating an environment where innovative educational practices thrive, preparing all UGA students to understand and navigate the world in which they live, work, and learn. Central to this is the Active Learning initiative, and creating opportunities for faculty to learn innovative teaching techniques that engage students as active participants in the classroom and in the construction of knowledge.

There are nearly 300 employees across 19 units in the Office of Instruction, all working together to reach new heights in education. Our initiatives have established the university as an academic powerhouse and continue to attract students, faculty, and staff to become lifelong Bulldogs. I invite you to explore our website to learn more about the incredible work being done by our team.

Thank you,
