Fiona Liken

Associate Vice President for Instruction and Registrar

Fiona Liken is the Associate Vice President for Instruction and Registrar. She works collaboratively with other offices in managing enrollment, curriculum issues, academic advising, class scheduling, and classroom space management, all in support of student success. Liken provides guidance to campus leadership concerning curriculum development and approval and resolution of student issues, and is the liaison with the University System of Georgia concerning curriculum and the Chief Transfer Officer for the university serving on USG committees as needed.

She provides leadership, strategic planning, organization, and direction for all functional areas of the Office of the Registrar. In addition to typical registrar functions, she also oversees the curriculum management team that provides university-wide guidance and resources to faculty, staff, and administration with regard to program and course approval and publication. She also administers the Double Dawgs and the First-Year Odyssey Seminar Programs.

Liken also currently provides functional leadership and oversight for two new and significant projects: the ACES project that will result in a comprehensive learner record for all university students; and the CPOS project, a project in collaboration with the office of Financial Aid and EITS that will result in a new online program-revision process and compliance with financial aid requirements.

Her career highlights include an instrumental role in the successful implementation of university-wide initiatives to positively impact students and provide operational efficiencies. These have included the First-Year Odyssey Seminar, a requirement designed to introduce students to faculty research areas in small class settings; and Double Dawgs, a unique program offering with 300 pathways enabling students to graduate in five years with both an undergraduate and graduate degree, with 1,200 students currently participating.

Liken holds a Bachelor of Business Administration as well as a Master of Public Administration.
