Design Standards for Instruction
In addition to following all the UGA brand guidelines
- Any design that is more than a standard logo on an item needs director-level approval (ex: student drawn T-shirt).
- Design should uphold good principles of graphic design.
- Design should look professional and reflect well on the university.
- When possible, use UGA brand colors. (Possible exceptions: partner logos, when context calls for something different).
- Please avoid infringing on Trademarks for popular movies or companies.
- Don’t alter the marks.
Notes
- The Arch is the academic mark. The Power G is the athletic mark and cannot be the primary logo representing an academic unit. The Power G can sometimes be a secondary logo, but will need additional approvals from athletics.
- For external audiences, consider using the UGA mark instead of a unit mark. This gives products longevity and flexibility. (Give students a UGA bag they can use long after graduation etc.)
- Try to plan ahead for design requests. Many vendors need 2-3 weeks or more lead time.
