Faculty-to-Faculty (F2F) aims to foster a culture of pedagogical excellence and informal mentoring within our academic community. Through F2F, expert teachers are invited to open their classrooms and studios to colleagues from all colleges across the university. This will create opportunities for observation, dialogue, and professional growth in the spirit of making teaching more public.

Interested in observing a class?

Guest seats are prioritized for:  Junior faculty and faculty re-entering instructional roles, or picking up new types of instructional roles (e.g., faculty newly teaching high enrollment courses) are particularly encouraged to apply.

How does it work?

During February 2025,  small groups of faculty observed the host of their choice teaching a class, and then met with the host to discuss the pedagogy.  The observations focused on pedagogy, not content, and the host chose the specific day for observation.  The program encourages cross-disciplinary learning and collaboration so many guests chose observation opportunities outside their disciplines.

After observations, guests met as a group with their host to discuss the featured pedagogy, gaining insights into effective teaching practices, diverse teaching styles, innovative techniques, assessment methods, and classroom management. Participants were also able to build connections across disciplines.

All participants were invited to a celebration mid-March.
