Brennen Salmon is the director of University Academic Advising Services. Brennen provides leadership, support, and advocacy for academic advisors at the University of Georgia. He is also dedicated to student success, well-being, and sense of belonging.
He received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia, an M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee, and an Ed.D. in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia. His dissertation was a quantitative study exploring working conditions as a predictor of student affairs professionals’ turnover intentions. Before joining the Office of Instruction, Brennen was the Co-Director of Undergraduate Advising in the Mary Frances Early College of Education. Brennen also served as an academic advisor in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and as an Academic Coach at the University of Tennessee’s Student Success Center.
In his spare time, Brennen enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife, Katie, and his children, Micah and Camille.
