  • The HOPE Scholarship and Pell Grants can be applied toward summer tuition (FAFSA form not required for HOPE/Zell approval).

Identify the course(s) you want and log into Athena to register. Select the Look Up classes option and choose Summer 2025.

Admissions

Application Deadline for Summer 2025:  May 12, 2025

  • Current Students (All Locations): Current Students do not need to complete an application for admission.

Registration

Registering for classes and adjusting schedules through the Drop/Add process is done in Athena, UGA’s student information system. Summer course registration for current students begins in November according to the student’s assigned registration date. All students may register until the last day of Drop/Add for each summer session. Visit the Office of the Registrar for full details about registering or access Athena at athena.uga.edu.

Registration Dates for Summer 2025 Classes

  • Maymester: November 25 – May 12
  • Extended Session: November 25 – May 12
  • Thru Session: November 25 – June 4
  • Short Session I: November 25 – June 4
  • Short Session II: November 25 – July 3

Students may register until the last day of Drop/Add for each summer session.

Graduate Students

Graduate students can take advantage of summer courses to maintain continuous enrollment that is required by the Graduate School. All enrolled students pursuing graduate degrees at the University of Georgia must maintain continuous enrollment from matriculation until completion of all degree requirements—registering for a minimum of three (3) credits in at least two semesters per academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer).
