Kay Stanton, assistant director of operations in the Office of Experiential Learning, has been with the University of Georgia since 2000 and with the Office of Experiential Learning since 2016. She has many responsibilities in her role with EL, including working with faculty and students to develop and discover opportunities in experiential learning, meeting with both academic and non-academic leadership to discuss the data-driven importance of experiential learning, and she manages the EL website as well.
Outside of the office, Stanton stays busy rocking out on the bass guitar with her band Pylon Reenactment Society, which regularly plays in Athens and has upcoming shows in North Carolina and Nashville, and she also instructs dance trapeze courses at Canopy Studio here in Athens.
On the side, she enjoys working in visual art and the occasional “herping” trip at night to find cool and interesting reptiles and amphibians in the wild. She also stays busy with her four cats, Chip, Luci, Marge and Puddentaine, who you can learn more about, along with all of Stanton’s co-workers’ pets, on the new “Pets of EL” webpage.
