Achieve Atlanta, a leading nonprofit organization on a mission to help Atlanta Public Schools students access, afford, and earn postsecondary credentials, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the University of Georgia. This collaboration aims to bolster student support, foster academic achievement, and promote equitable access to higher education.

“We are very excited to partner with Achieve Atlanta and appreciate the outstanding work they do to support students,” said Marisa Anne Pagnattaro, vice president for instruction and senior vice provost for academic planning at the University of Georgia. “This collaboration furthers our commitment to supporting student success from recruitment through graduation. We are hopeful that this partnership will have a lasting impact.”

The partnership between Achieve Atlanta and UGA is rooted in a shared commitment to student success and aligns with UGA President Jere W. Morehead’s strategic priority of supporting more underserved student populations. Achieve Atlanta’s nonprofit college success partner, Edu-Tech Enterprises, has been providing social-emotional coaching support to UGA Achieve Atlanta Scholars since 2016. Achieve Atlanta now has 11 postsecondary partnerships.

“Achieve Atlanta has been looking forward to formally launching this partnership with the University of Georgia,” said Susanne Diggs-Wilborn, vice president, college success, at Achieve Atlanta. “This is an incredible opportunity to expand on the web of supports currently in place with Edu-Tech Enterprises, and to institutionalize the practices that promote Scholar retention, persistence and completion. Our collaboration will not only strengthen the resources available to our Scholars, but serve as a model for successful practices that can be scaled to support traditionally underserved student populations.”

The partnership will work with UGA’s Office of Instruction, Office of Student Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Office of Institutional Research, Division of Academic Enhancement, and academic and student success offices to offer targeted programs and academic coaching to ensure students thrive on campus and graduate. This spring, Achieve Atlanta academic coaching drop-in hours will be offered on campus for students to discuss academic progress and goals or work on academic skills such as time management and study strategies.

By combining resources, expertise, and passion, our organizations seek to further empower students on their educational journeys and increase college completion outcomes.
